Great Cooperation in the Procurement of Medicine and Medical Devices

Studies within the context of Priority Transformation Programs, which are of great importance in terms of achieving the objectives of 2023 and the Tenth Development Plan, have been proceeding rapidly.

Within the scope of Priority Transformation Programs of "Technology Development through Public Procurement and Domestic Production Program" and "Structural Transformation Program in Health Industry";

Cooperation studies between the Ministry of Health and Directorate General of State Supply Office under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance, for the development of effective procurement methods in the procurement of medicine, medical supplies and medical devices used in health services, have been initiated and the the Protocol on "Healthcare Products Catalogue" to be established within this scope has been signed.

While Directorate General of State Supply Office, which conducts public procurement by taking into consideration the advantages of central purchasing with an approach focusing on economic development and savings, meets the needs of the Ministry of Health with this Protocol, in accordance with its subordinate goals, it aims at;

  • Providing budget savings through bulk purchases,
  • Establishing reference prices,
  • Supporting innovation, domestic and national technology, technology transfer and entrepreneurship,
  • Developing an effective, transparent, accountable and competitive procurement system through fast, direct, sustainable purchases.
