Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin NEBATİ, our General Director Mücahit CİVRİZ, sector representatives, presidents of associations and many industrialists attended the Ankara Furniture Sector Meeting held at the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO). Our Deputy Minister Mr. Nebati and our General Director Mr. Civriz made a general evaluation after listening to the problems of industrialists and their proposed solutions.

ASO Board Member and President of TOBB Furniture Products Assembly, Ercan ATA, stated in the meeting headed by him that they make detailed studies regarding the problems of the sector. He emphasized, they expect quick solutions from the relevant ministries to these problems and indicated that the meeting, bringing all parties together, is an important step towards the solution. He said, “As a company that has been working with DMO for twenty years, we observe that DMO has a faster and more dynamic structure thanks to its recent practices.”

Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati noted that by listening to the market, they try to find solutions to the problems and they make great effort to minimise the effects of the economic attack towards Turkey. He said he had faith in Turkey, and “Every individual survives crises, strengthens his family, every boss his company”.

            ASO Office Furnitures Industry Committee President Yavuz ERBAZ stated that companies included in DMO Catalogue should be analysed and determined according to the criterias as being a producer, representing the sector, working with a certain quality. He expressed his suggestions regarding the implementation of a company evaluation system considering the company's service to the customer. Mr. Erbaz said, “DMO has recently become a fast-paced organization and I believe that through its new administrative mentality DMO will reach the place it deserves.

After mentioning about the changes that were made in the recent period and planned to be made in the near term, our General Manager Mücahit CİVRİZ  said that  “We attach great importance to the sector as DMO, due the fact that the furniture sector consists of 100% domestic products, and we are trying to help our suppliers by making quick decisions in the face of the costly difficulties in the market.

Mr. CİVRİZ also stated that “PPI (producer price index) updates have been implemented since 2017. After the fluctuations in exchange rates, we gave our suppliers the opportunity to raise price in September. We believe that this raise will provide economic support to them. As DMO, we are always trying to be sensitive to the problems experienced by our suppliers.” Mr. CİVRİZ, who stated that they will take a number of important decisions in the process from the first application to the payment process in the DMO, said all the stakeholders will be pleased with this approach.
