In the New Economy Program (YEP) on 29.09.2020, which Mr. Berat Albayrak, the Minister of Treasury and Finance presented, our Directorate General was given important duties.

Mr. Albayrak stated that with the expansion of the role of the State Supply Office in central procurement in the new period, there have been great positive results, the problems in the health sector, where purchases are 30-40 percent cheaper, will end one or other day, and said, “We will implement the localization model, that we have done in the energy sector, also in the health sector through DMO.” He added, “We will experience a great transformation story with the transformation of both collection and cheapness and R&D in Turkey in this sense.”

Under the title of Policies and Measures to be taken regarding Public Finance of the Program; the statement “The transformation of the State Supply Office into an internationally leading central purchasing institution that supports the public procurement policies needed in the development of the country will be ensured.” was included.

In the program, the expressions “In line with the aforementioned policies and measures, scheduled actions and projects that serve the main objectives of the YEP and the realization of basic macroeconomic targets, and that aim to strengthen individual and social development in the long term, will be implemented.” were included. Under the title of Public Finance of these actions and projects; the action “DMO will provide a purchase guarantee for advanced technology investments in the field of health, especially in pharmaceuticals, vaccines and medical devices that will contribute to the development of our country” took place.
