Dr. Berat ALBAYRAK
He was born on February 21, 1978.
Berat ALBAYRAK took his master’s degree in New York Pace University, Lubin School of Businees after he completed his bachelor’s degree in Istanbul University, Dept. of Business Administration (English). He received his PhD on "Financing Renewable Energy Resources" from the Dept. of Banking and Finance. He started his professional career in 1996. He has led many different initiatives in different business lines, especially in economy, energy and finance, as a manager.
By the end of 2013, he put an end to his career in private sector. He both wrote as a columnist in Newspaper Sabah and lectured on banking and finance at Marmara University. He took active roles in many civil society organizations.
ALBAYRAK, who became a parliamentarian as the 25th, 26th and 27th term İstanbul MP, is a member of the Central Executive Committee of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). He served as the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources in the 64th, 65th and 66th Governments of the Republic of Turkey. Albayrak was appointed as the Minister of Treasury and Finance in the first cabinet of the Presidential Government System.
During the Ministry of ALBAYRAK, National Energy and Mining Strategy Document, consisting of Turkey’s medium and long-term energy policies, was prepared. Within this context, many projects such as Turkey’s first FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) Project for natural gas supply security, Turkey’s largest tender for solar and wind energy power plants each of which with 1000 MW, and domestic factory and R-D conditional, the inauguration of Turkey's first domestic and national drill ship, 1 million meters of ground drilling move, National Boron Strategy, all of which will set an example to the world in the field of enegy and mining, were put into practice.
ALBAYRAK is married with 3 children.
