Speaking at the Supplier Summit 2018 event held in Technopark Ankara, our General Director Mücahit CİVRİZ stated that he consider DMO and suppliers as a family. He continued “In 2018, we had decided to take radical steps in a series of works with my colleagues at DMO by asking the question “What should we do to make DMO more dynamic, more interactive and more proactive in the public procurement process? DMO is not only an instution that deals with buying-selling, but also discusses how local companies can contribute to branding at the end of the day.DMO, unlike many public institutions on one side of the private sector to the public sector. We created our road map by identifying all the negative perceptions about DMO and the areas that need to be improved when we set out the future dream of the DMO.” He also informed the participants about online catalog application system, simplification of the documents requested in the application innovations in product pricing system, product registration system, e-receipt, e- dispatch list, e-receive applications, integration studies with institutions, product scorecard, supplier scoring system, online tracking / transaction, corporate solutions and DMO Academy.

Mr. CİVRİZ emphasized that the budget for the next year will be a saving budget. Savings will be made in infrastructure investments but this does not mean that there will be no savings in the purchase of goods and services. It is expected that this year sales will be 3.5 billion TL compared to our sales of 4 billion liras.

MUSIAD, OMSIAD, IMDER, ARÜSDER, TÜMDEF, TÜKİD and OSTİM Medical Industry Clusters, which are among the non-governmental organizations, participated in the event and expressed their satisfaction with the recent innovative practices of DMO and their expectations from the institution.

Speaking at the summit, President of Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) Nurettin ÖZDEBİR said that public procurement has leverage effect in technological development of a country and continued “R & D based purchasing can be made by DMO in this sense. So, the public's needs will be met and the attack of the foreigners to Turkey market will be prevented. Reminding that the difference between the purchase and sales of an enterprise during the year is expressed as accounting profit, he stated that this is also prevail for countries. The difference between a country's foreign exchange revenues and foreign exchange expenses is called the current deficit. If we had preferred domestic products, we wouldn't have current deficit.

MÜSİAD Ankara Branch President İlhan ERDAL said that “With the economy in a presidential system in Turkey, people began to give importance to production. Mr. ERDAL also stated that “As a non-governmental organization they are making efforts to support national production to increase their exports. The use of domestic products in the medical sector is negligible. We are making efforts to use local medical products in hospitals throughout the country, especially in new city hospitals. An institution like DMO is very important in this sense.”

Mr. Hasan GÜLTEKİN, Chairman of the Board of Technopark, stated that “DMO is doing good works with a domestic and national approach. Thanks to these meetings, we also talk about the contribution of the diversification of products and the development of the market of imported or non-manufactured products to our economy. In order to produce what we have not been able to produce before, the offset possibilities of DMO should be well evaluated. I believe that our industrialists will evaluate these opportunities well”
